TIDINGS: Rev. Mantell to retire

ADVENT 2008
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
They say timing is everything and if I could, I would have preferred to make this announcement after the holidays. However, the way things have turned out, I decided to do so today.
After a lot of thought, prayer, consultation with my family and with the Bishop's office, I have decided to take an early retirement. You all know that I have been dealing with a lot of health issues and, in fairness to you, my Trinity family, and to my own family; I believe this is the best decision.
My retirement will be effective as of January 1, 2009. Yes, that's only a few weeks away, but while my official capacity will change, I will still be here helping with year-end reports, etc. and getting ready to move. My plan is to move to Delaware sometime during the first quarter of 2009. Dorian and I will be living with my daughter Kim, her husband Neal and my beautiful grandson, Alex. It goes without saying; I will miss all of you, but for now, let's focus on the joy of the season as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. As the Bible says, there is a time for all things. . . and we will have the chance to say our goodbyes at the appropriate time.
